About Alexi Kenney
Violinist Alexi Kenney, recipient of a 2016 Avery Fisher Career Grant and winner of the 2013 Concert Artists Guild competition, has appeared as soloist with orchestras including the Detroit, Indianapolis, Columbus, Omaha, Jacksonville, and California symphonies, the St. Paul and Lausanne chamber orchestras, and in recital at Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, the Phillips Collection, and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. He performs as chamber musician at Marlboro, Bridgehampton, ChamberFest Cleveland, Ravinia, Kronberg, Prussia Cove, and as a member of The Bowers Program at Lincoln Center (formerly CMS 2), and is a frequent Guest Concertmaster of both the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and the Pittsburgh Symphony. Born in Palo Alto, California in 1994, Alexi studied at the New England Conservatory with Don Weilerstein and Miriam Fried. He plays a violin made in London by Stefan-Peter Greiner in 2009. Outside of music, Alexi enjoys hojicha, hygge interiors, baking for friends, and walking for miles on end in whichever city he finds himself, listening to podcasts and Bach on repeat.
